U8 Black vs East Leake Black

A top-class performance from the U8 Blacks this weekend, running out 7-0 winners in style!
The boys moved the ball brilliantly, especially in the opening 15 minutes where they barely let East Leake get a touch. Jack ran the show from midfield, supported by tireless running from the wide players, and the whole team worked hard both in and out of possession.

The defence was rock solid, calmly playing out from the back and never really looking in trouble. Special mention to Oliver, who picked up the ball deep a couple of times and helped build from the back with confidence.

A big well done to all the boys — huge improvements week by week and a joy to watch!

U11s Battle Through with Nine Men to Win 5-2

What a game! With just nine players, the U11 boys put in a heroic display to secure a brilliant 5-2 win and gain revenge after a close defeat earlier in the season.

Milo stepped up in goal with some key saves, while Toby led from the back with a commanding performance. Arthur and Jamie were excellent defensively, and the midfield trio of Harry, Oliver, and Jacob worked tirelessly throughout.

Harry was unplayable up top — quick, direct, and clinical — scoring a superb hat trick. Toby added a cheeky Panenka and Curtis rounded things off with a goal to match his fantastic all-round effort.

A massive performance from a team who showed resilience, quality, and real togetherness. Huge well done, lads!

U10 CD Panthers Edge It Away at Long Eaton

A great 1-0 win for the Panthers in a tightly contested clash on the big 9v9 pitch. Every single player stepped up and played their part in what was a real team performance.

Macsen earned Player of the Match for his tireless work in the middle, with Luca picking up the Captain’s Award for a calm and composed display at the back.

Frank bagged the winner after coolly rounding the keeper — a moment of quality in a hard-fought game. The boys dealt well with some physicality and held their shape brilliantly.

Big thanks to Clare for reffing! Enjoy those Easter eggs, everyone!

Vipers vs Pumas – Club Clash Delight!

An all-Dons fixture as the U9 Vipers faced off against the U10 Pumas in a competitive, well-played friendly.
The Pumas struck early with brilliant goals from Ollie and Henry, but the Vipers roared back in the second half with some lovely team football and five excellent finishes.

Final score: 5-2 to the Vipers.

Vipers goals: George (2), Lewis (2), Oscar (1)
POTM: Lewis (Vipers), Freddie (Pumas)

Reserves Exit Cup but Plenty of Positives

A tough day for our Reserves as they were knocked out of the Drayton Pacs Division 2 Cup by a strong Mickleover side.

Lashon James gave the Dons the perfect start, scoring after just 40 seconds, but Mickleover responded with four goals before the break. Despite the scoreline, there were strong individual performances across the pitch.

Alex Astle-Burgoyne was outstanding and picked up MOTM, while Malachi Moody impressed after stepping into midfield. Captain Billy Champneys-Davies also stood out with a solid shift at both full-back and centre-back.

Heads held high — the rebuild continues, and the results will come!

U11 Girls vs Ilkeston (Friendly)

A tough result in this friendly for our new-look U11 Girls, going down 6-0 to Ilkeston, but what a performance in terms of effort and teamwork!

Only their third ever game as a team, and the girls showed fantastic attitude and improvement. Loads of positives to build on going forward!

POTM: Molly – growing in confidence and really starting to shine.
